BIO: Julian Friers
Julian Friers was a wildlife painter born in Bangor, Northern Ireland in 1956. Friers was educated at the Belfast College of Art and then to earn a living, he became a professional wildlife painter. His first solo exhibition was held in 1977.
Julian’s preferred medium is oil but he has attempted to explore all other materials available to him. The ‘Irish Impressionists’ influenced him greatly and this is where he got his method and approach.
In 2009, Friers was appointed President of the Royal Ulster Academy. Today, we can see his works through collections in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and the USA.
